The Hydrogen Sonata

The Hydrogen Sonata - Iain M. Banks The story centres around a civilisation that is going to sublime, and as they approach this point the various factions start to cause trouble. A lady which is implicated in some of this is wanted by the Gzlit, but she is on a mission to find the oldest man in the universe to understand what happened 10,000 years ago.I have always liked the way that Banks weaves his universes, and makes some of the technology work as as sentient being. The ships again are fully of wit, humour and sarcasm, as you would expect. Whilst I really enjoyed reading it, the story did not live up to the prose.
