The Alchemist

The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho I kind of enjoyed this book, it comes across with a dream like quality and essence, it was not outstanding. The plot is not hugely strong. It is about a boy who following a prediction from a gypsy lady decides to travel to the premeds in Egypt, and the events and people he meets push him to that destiny. I think it does loose something with the translation though, as I do not think all of the intent of the author can be carried through. But that is the nature of reading book that are not in their original language.
